Running Time: 120 minutes
EXTENDED!Return engagement of Santa Monica Playhouse Actors’ Repertory Theatre’s (ART) internationally acclaimed farce, “THE FOOLS.” THE FOOLS” is perfect summer fare, presented in ART’s signature Commedia-Circus style, or as the LA TIMES puts it, “Barnum & Bailey spiced with Monty Python.” Exploring such human foibles as hypocrisy, selfishness, jealousy, vanity and arrogance through the eyes of 17th century France and the antics of archetypical commedia dell’Arte humor, “THE FOOLS” asks the burning question, “Which of us are the bigger fools—those of us who play our foolish games upon the stage…or those of you who pay your hard earned francs to watch us do it?” Based on Moliere’s "Les Facheux."Adapted & translated by Evelyn Rudie with music by Franz Josef Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and lyrics by E. Rudie. Directed by Chris DeCarlo “Best Bets” -LA TIMES “Critics’ Pick” -Backstage Sat 7:30pm, Sun 6:30pm thru 9/30/12 Sat. 7:30pm, Sun 4:30 thru 11/19/12
