Mission

Freedom Theatre West is a project of the Levantine Cultural Center. Founded in 2001, our mission is to champion a greater understanding of the Middle East and North Africa by presenting arts and educational programs that bridge political and religious divides, and that promote peace and understanding across boundaries. Through programming such as gallery exhibitions, theater productions, film series, language classes, art and writing workshops, author readings, lectures and public conversations, the Middle East is seen not so much through the lens of conflict and war, but through its wealth of culture, history, creative production and intellectual achievement.
