2008 Membership Summit

This year's summit is open to all LA Stage Alliance organizational and individual members
as well as to any one interested in LA Stage Alliance.
SCHEDULE
The Summit will run from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Attendees are invited to join us for the whole day or may choose to attend any of the sessions separately. Complementary coffee and pastries will be available at 9:30AM.
SESSION #1 - 10 AM to 12:30 PM
MEMBERSHIP REPORT - An introduction of current LA Stage Alliance Staff and a progress report on the previous year's outcomes with LA Stage TIMES, LAStageTIX, NAMP workshops, and advocacy and civic leadership.
NEW PROGRAMS & CHANGES - A brief overview of changes to the Ovation Awards, new formatting for the LA Stage TIMES, and the LA Stage Magazine redesign.
UPDATES - The introduction of LA Stage AIR (discount radio advertising) and the new and improved LA Stage BLOG.
PROGRESS REPORT - A report on the LA Stage Resource Guide for the Performing Arts (still in the works) and the preliminary findings of the LACAC Market Segmentation Study.
FREE NIGHT - In addition, Phil Matthews of Theatre Communications Group will give a presentation on the national program, FREE NIGHT OF THEATRE, including research from the last three years and changes to the program for 2008.
NETWORKING LUNCH - 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Bring your own or stroll into the adjacent mall for a variety of options. Meet representatives from many Los Angeles based arts organizations. Collect printed material about programs and resources that could greatly benefit your organization.
SESSION #2 - 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
NOTE: Session #2 workshops will run simultaneously.

The Ovation Awards for Theatre Producers
An online demonstration with a question-and-answer segment to follow.
LA Stage Programs Manager Douglas Clayton will walk you through the new rules and procedures for the Ovation Awards program 2008/2009.

* increase your chances of getting voters to attend
* interface with the new and improved online registration process
We highly recommend this session for anyone who is interested in registering a production for the Ovations for the first time, and any established producers who want to see first hand what the changes are and how they have been implemented.

OPTION 2 (1:30 PM to 3:30 PM)
Marketing with LA Stage Alliance
Communications Manager Darren R. Schroader will give a step-by-step breakdown of all LA Stage Alliance marketing tools available to members, including:
LA Stage Times, LA STAGE Magazine, LA Stage TIX, LA Stage AIR (radio advertising), The Big List and more!
Statistics on usage and results from each program will be presented, as well as pricing, deadlines and bundled-purchasing options.
Discover the combination of marketing tools will work best for your organization.
Comprehensive handouts for each program will be provided.
OPTION 3 (1:30 pm TO 3:30 pm)
The Bigger Picture
A roundtable discussion led and moderated by LA Stage Alliance Executive Director Terence McFarland about the future of the Los Angeles Performing Arts Community.
What will the LA Performing Arts community look like in ten years?
What SHOULD it look like?
How can LA Stage Alliance and its members and affiliated organizations work together to improve the future of the performing arts in LA?
The session will be recorded with excerpts to be published on LA Stage Blog and in LA STAGE Magazine.
